5 Tips to Help You Choose the Right Photographer

Here are 5 things that are must-dos when looking for a photographer!

 1. Research: Take the time to look through portfolios of potential photographers and read online reviews. This will help you get an idea of their style, experience, and types of services they offer. Be sure to check out reviews from a variety of platforms: Google, Facebook, Website.

 2. Budget: Work out your budget before you start looking for a photographer. This will help narrow down your search and make sure you don’t overspend.  Keep in mind - you get what you pay for!  If your budget is lower than you may need to seek out someone who is portfolio building or offering model calls.

 3. Location: If you’re going to be using the photographer for an event or a wedding, decide on the location first. This will help you determine which photographers are within the area and will also make it easier to arrange a meeting with them.  Your photographer should have a go-to list of locations that they love to shoot at so don't be afraid to ask for their suggestion.  Keep in mind, there are locations that require special permits.  Think about what your family's vibe and pick a location that fits that!

 4. Personality: Meeting with a potential photographer is the best way to determine their personality. Ask questions, discuss your ideas, and make sure they understand what you’re looking for.

 5. References: Ask the photographer for references. Speak to people who have used the photographer before to get an idea of how they work and the quality of their work.
